Best strategy in 30 seconds
  • Early game: prioritize fast grow cycles + low seed risk. Use short windows (8–14 days) to find reliable cash crops.
  • Mid game: once you unlock key Makers, re-run with processing enabled. Crops with strong maker tags start dominating.

💡 How we calculate True Profit/Day

Unlike simple spreadsheets, our Pioneers of Olive Town calculator simulates the entire growth and processing lifecycle to give you actionable data. Here is how the math works:

  • Quality Multiplier (1★ - 10★): We apply a scaling multiplier to the base shipping price. Reaching 10-star quality through the Seed Maker roughly doubles the raw selling price of crops.
  • Harvest Yields: Crops like Potatoes or Cucumbers yield multiple units per harvest. We multiply the best unit price by the total yield.
  • Maker Processing: If "Include Processing" is enabled, the calculator scans all known Maker recipes (Jam Maker, Powder Maker, Condiment Maker) for that crop and automatically selects the route with the highest gross margin per unit.
  • Formula: ((Highest Price per Unit × Yield per Harvest × Total Harvests in Window) - Total Seed Cost) ÷ Window Days

Note: Processing times for Makers are not deducted from the Window Days, as players can run multiple Makers concurrently in the background while crops continue to grow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Profit/Day (PPD) mean in Olive Town?
Profit/Day is a comparison metric: (total profit inside your chosen window) ÷ (window days). It helps you compare crops fairly even when grow times and makers differ.
Why do rankings change when I change Star Quality?
Higher star quality increases sell price. Crops with strong base price or strong Maker outcomes often scale harder and can jump rankings at higher stars.
Why do some crops show 0.00 Profit/Day?
Usually because your window is too short for the crop to reach its first harvest. For example, a 10–15 day crop can be 0 in an 8-day window.
Should I always enable Maker processing?
In mid/late game, yes—processing often dominates. In early game, you may lack makers or time; the raw-sell baseline can be more realistic.
Is this calculator exact for every save file?
It’s a decision tool. Your exact best crop depends on your unlocked makers, parallel machines, and your chosen time horizon (days).
