💡 How we calculate True Profit/Day

Unlike simple spreadsheets, our Pioneers of Olive Town calculator simulates the entire growth and processing lifecycle to give you actionable data. Here is how the math works:

  • Quality Multiplier (1★ - 10★): We apply a scaling multiplier to the base shipping price. Reaching 10-star quality through the Seed Maker roughly doubles the raw selling price of crops.
  • Harvest Yields: Crops like Potatoes or Cucumbers yield multiple units per harvest. We multiply the best unit price by the total yield.
  • Maker Processing: If "Include Processing" is enabled, the calculator scans all known Maker recipes (Jam Maker, Powder Maker, Condiment Maker) for that crop and automatically selects the route with the highest gross margin per unit.
  • Formula: ((Highest Price per Unit × Yield per Harvest × Total Harvests in Window) - Total Seed Cost) ÷ Window Days

Note: Processing times for Makers are not deducted from the Window Days, as players can run multiple Makers concurrently in the background while crops continue to grow.

FAQ

When can I plant Bean?
You can plant it in: Spring, Summer, Autumn.
Does Bean regrow?
No — single harvest.
Why use Profit/Day instead of total sell price?
Sell price alone ignores grow time. Profit/Day normalizes outcomes over a 28-day window, so you can compare “fast cheap crops” vs “slow expensive crops” fairly.
Should I use Makers for Bean?
Use Makers only if they beat raw selling for your star quality and available stations. Open the calculator with your settings to confirm the best route.
