Pioneers of Olive Town
Farming & Profit Guide

Stop guessing what to plant. Our data-driven Answer Book helps you find the exact Profit/Day for every crop, factoring in Star Quality (1★ to 10★) and Maker Processing times.

How the Olive Town Economy Works

⭐ Quality Progression (1★ - 10★)

Unlike other farming sims, crops in PoOT have a massive quality multiplier. A 10-star crop sells for nearly double the price of a 1-star crop. Our calculators account for this vital progression via the Seed Maker.

🏭 The Maker Ecosystem

Selling raw crops is a trap. Processing items through the Jam Maker or Condiment Maker is required to maximize Profit/Day (PPD). We automatically calculate the best processing route for every crop.

Best strategy in 30 seconds

If you only remember one thing: processing + star quality is where real money comes from in Olive Town.

  • Early game
Pick fast cycles + low friction.

Focus on crops that turn over quickly and don’t lock your field. Use Profit/Day as your filter, then expand only when your stamina and maker slots can keep up.

  • Mid game
Use Seed Maker to scale star quality.

The fastest way to snowball income is pushing crops up the star ladder. Prioritize crops that keep their value when starred and have strong maker outputs.

  • Late game
    Processing dominates—optimize routes.

Maker time becomes your bottleneck. Choose crops that create high-value processed goods and keep your makers running 24/7. Use the calculator to compare “raw vs maker” with your current machine lineup.

Assumptions: 1★ • 28-day window • processing included
# Crop Grow Time Profit/Day
1 Bean 12d 46.79 G
2 Rice 14d 36.14 G
3 Onion 6d 33.00 G
Tip: Profit/Day is for comparison. Rankings shift a lot with star level and maker availability—use the calculator to match your setup.
How to read this: Profit/Day is a comparison metric, not “total profit”. Rankings can change a lot once you switch star level and maker assumptions. Use the calculator for your exact setup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I use the Seed Maker instead of buying seeds?
In Pioneers of Olive Town, seeds bought from the General Store are always 0-star quality. To increase your crop quality (up to 10 stars, which doubles your selling price), you must process your harvested crops through a Seed Maker and replant them. It is the only way to progress your farm's profit baseline.
Are Makers worth the processing time?
Absolutely. While Makers take in-game hours to finish, items like the Jam Maker, Condiment Maker, and Essence Maker can double or even triple the base selling price of your raw crops. For maximum daily profit, you should always process high-value crops rather than shipping them raw.
Do crops die when the season changes in Olive Town?
Yes. Unlike some farming sims with generous overlap, crops in Pioneers of Olive Town will instantly wilt and die on the 1st day of a new season if they are not compatible with that season. Always check the 'Grow Time' and plan your last harvest accordingly.
Why rank crops by Profit/Day (PPD) instead of total sell price?
Total sell price is misleading. A crop that sells for 1,000G but takes 14 days to grow earns less per day than a crop that sells for 400G but grows in 4 days. PPD standardizes the math, factoring in seed costs, regrow rates, and grow time to show you the true money-making efficiency.
Does crop star quality affect the output of Makers?
Yes! If you put a 10-star Strawberry into a Jam Maker, you will receive 10-star Strawberry Jam. The quality multiplier carries over through processing, making high-star processed goods the most lucrative items in the entire game.
